Meditation is not always easy. It takes most people a long time to be able to find a way of cutting themselves off from the outside world and attaining a sense of relaxation and detachment with which they can enter a meditative state, and if you are a beginner to meditation, you have probably found this to be the case should you have already tried to meditate.
One of the major reasons why people fail to get into a meditative state is due to our attachment to our surroundings, and the fact that we are very easily distracted by the smallest noise or movement around us.
When most people begin to meditate, they sit down and close their eyes, but they are still very aware of the world around them. Perhaps even more aware than usual – if you aren’t used to being awake with your eyes closed, you can begin to feel very uncomfortable, scared even, and it goes without saying that this is not the condition you need to be in to reach a meditative state! Another reason why people fail in their meditation attempts is that the mind is very easily filled with all sorts of nonsense which can cause it to be incredibly difficult to reach any sort of detached state. Our lives are fundamentally quite stressful – most of every day we need to be thinking of many different things at once, and even in the safety of our own home we are often worrying about something or other, or waiting for something, or supposed to be doing something else. All of these things create a mind which is essentially busy and noisy, and unable to detach itself from its surroundings.

By lying or sitting down somewhere comfortable, and concentrating on our breathing whilst soaking ourselves in blissful meditative music, we are actually allowing our minds to be coaxed into a meditative state through the medium of music. You find yourself free from distractions, and you’ll find it considerably easier to slip into some vivid and relaxing visualizations which will help the material world with all its worries and problems simply slip away. Meditative music also helps your body’s rhythm calm itself, and slip into a deep state of relaxation. The pulsing and flowing nature of the meditative music will help your body realign itself as you begin to breath deeply and steadily, and become more and more relaxed and detached from the world around you.
